Xbox have released a new video on their YouTube channel explaining how the new Elite controller will work alongside the Xbox Accessories App. Obviously Microsoft can explain the apps functionality better than we can, so we’ll let the video do most of the work here.
However here’s a quick rundown of some of the ways the app will work with the controller. One of the coolest features is that the app allows you to customise your controls for individual games by creating a profile for them. All you have to do is load a games profile onto the controller and then the button-mapping will be however you like it best for that game. For example if you’re playing Halo and decide to switch to Forza you can just change the profile on the controller to Forza’s, that way you don’t have to go through in game menus to set up your controls.
You can adjust the sensitivity of your analogue sticks, you can adjust the rumble effect in individual parts of the controller, and you can even adjust the brightness of the X button. Anyway the video goes into far more depth and explains it far more elegantly than we ever could, so take it away Microsoft.
Lastly is you haven’t already heard button remapping is coming to all Xbox One controllers soon, and if you’d like some first impressions of the Elite controller from just after E3 click here.
